- Apple Barrel Paint if you think you would like to paint the unfinished wood, or Stain!
- Mod Podge- I use this in a LOT of crafts, so if you follow me, we will almost ALWAYS use it.
- Wood Beads if you will be adding those! (They are a great touch! You can leave them unfinished or paint them!)
- DTF transfers- or- You can look through my selection right here, Just make sure to get the proper size if you do not use mine.
My tool list for this project (Obviously if you can improvise, Do it!)
- A Mini iron, I really love the one I use- Check it out HERE!
- Paint Brushes
- Lighter (If you doing tissue paper (Another tutorial on that)
- Scissors, Any will do but I love mine in the pic for everything!
- Bryco Goods White Kraft Butcher Paper Butcher Paper- THIS is the only kind I use!
First, If you are painting your ornament a certain color, do that NOW and let it dry completely. If you are making a bunch it is best to go ahead and paint all of them now so that you don't have a bunch of drying time.
After your wood is done drying, place the transfer where you would like it to stay, and then place the Butcher paper over the top! You will then use small circle motions and pressure with your hand iron to make the transfer stay.
Then, take your squeegee, and glide it over the hot transfer (do not peel yet!), and cool peel your transfer off slowly in case you need to do it again. You can watch me do this right here in my video on tik tok
If you go to pull your transfer up and the transfer didn't stay, just lay it back down and repeat this process, but peel slowly so you can see where it is going to start pulling.
After your transfer is on, put a small layer of mod podge over the entire thing to seal.
Now, You have an ornament! These make great Christmas tree ornaments, Tiered tray items, or even car charms! I can't wait to see what you did with yours.
