After successfully beating a brain cancer diagnosis in 2014, the cancer has returned 10 years later. Kassie was on track to reach her 10 year cancer free anniversary on August 13th 2024– a feat that she was so looking forward to celebrating. She was also supposed to be going on a magical honeymoon following her recent marriage and they were hoping to start a family together thereafter.
Unfortunately, these plans are being deterred. Kassie will instead be starting radiation and multiple forms of chemotherapy to hopefully manage and minimize the tumor. Unlike her previous cancer battle, the location of this tumor makes it inoperable. It is woven throughout her cerebellum nearing her brainstem which makes surgery far too dangerous to perform.
The couple is now turning their focus to getting care for Kassie and paying for medical bills that are growing at an exponential rate. Biopsies, blood tests, MRIs, radiation, fertility procedures, CT scans, and more are and will continue to be necessary.
Kassie remains hopeful that a miracle and medical advance will occur to enable this to be beatable once again, but in the meantime she is needing help to prevent from drowning in medical bills amidst her treatment.
