Drake Benefit

 I come to you today in need of your help for an amazing young man who is only 17 years old and is reaching the end of his journey in this life. Drake was diagnosed at 4 with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Friedreich's Ataxia at age 6. Drake has fought so very long and hard to fulfill as many dreams as possible with the short time he was given to us!

He is a recent graduate of West Jefferson High School. He loved being a Roughrider and was involved with the golf club and an honor roll student. He loves his cat Laela and his mother and sister to the ends of the earth. He loves to play card games and board games and quit often beats me when we play! The family have been lifelong residents of West Jefferson. Drake is currently in palliative care at Children's hospital, desperately fighting to stay with us one more day.

I come to you as a lifelong resident of Madison County and ask you as my community to find in your heart to please help this beautiful family out in their time of need. Drake's mom, Trisha, is a single mother who works full time facing the unimaginable. The apartments they live in are no longer income-based and they are slated to be out next month according to the rental agency. I am asking for donations for future arrangements that this heartbroken mother is going to face in the coming weeks. Any and all help is greatly appreciated by the family and myself on behalf of them. If everyone could find it in their hearts to donate any amount at all, we are eternally grateful! May God Bless and Keep each one of you!
