You probably know me from my make up lives on the Facebook group but if you don’t, you will!!
Today I want to talk about all things HOODED EYES !!!
First and foremost before I go any further, you need to forget that your beautiful hooded eyes can't rock any and all makeup looks because you can and you will. I will make sure of it queens! Most people don’t even realize I have hooded eyes because of these techniques I am going to share with you!
Let’s dive right in and talk about eyeshadow looks on hooded eyes. Those with hooded lids know better than anyone else how easily their eye makeup smears and smudges, so you have a couple different options here. You can make sure to place your primer spray and foundation on your eyelids before going any further or you can invest in eyelid primer just for your eyes!
After you are done priming those eyes we can apply the eyeshadow! (Yay!! this is my favorite part!)
* You want to place the eyeshadow just above your crease INSTEAD OF in the natural fold of your eyelid. You can see the photos I’ve attached for a better idea of exactly what I mean. The right photos are the do’s and the left photos are the dont’s.
When you do this, you will see a huge difference in your eyes. It will shock you! If you're a beginner at applying eyeshadow and you are worried about the eyeshadow going everywhere or not being clean enough for your liking, grab a small piece of tape and place it next to your eye, starting from the outer corner of your eye going up towards the brow, angle it to your liking!
Apply your eyeshadow from the center of your eye straight out toward the piece of tape. It'll give hooded lids the illusion of lifted eyes and again, you’ll be shocked!!!! Once you are done peel the tape off and look at how clean your eyeshadow looks!
Let’s move on to eyelashes! Since your lashes are often touching your brow bone, you don't want a mascara that will smudge so waterproof mascara is the best way to go, if you do not have waterproof mascara, that is okay just give your mascara extra time to dry.
If you are like me and are obsessed with false eyelashes, the longer the better with hooded eyes. Long lashes open up hooded eyes in an instant!! Let’s talk about eyeliner!! A cat eye is probably the biggest struggle for hooded lids but here is a picture I found of the easiest way to accomplish an awesome cat eye!
You can see in this photo, that little swoop at the end makes a world of difference on a hooded eyelid!
All of these tips will change your whole eye look, but remember, practice makes perfect. It won’t happen over night! Once you get these techniques down there is NO makeup look you can’t do!
I will be doing live make up tutorials using the make up from our website every Thursday at 8:30pm. Join me and let’s talk about different eyes, different techniques and do some different looks together! This Thursday, March 18th, I will be going live to show you how I use all these exact techniques and the huge difference it makes on my hooded eyes! Don’t miss it! One was always NOTICIBLY bigger than the other. But, They never really lacked size.
I had gained, and lost 100 pounds, went through three pregancies-- and this left me with EMPTY skin. (Reminded me of door knockers!, LOL)
I had lost all this weight, but I was still obsessed with my appearance. I felt AWFUL about the way I looked.
So, I discussed it with by husband and we decided we could come up with the funds to feel better in my own skin.
My first tip: DO your research, go to a few different consultations. I settled with the second doctor I seen and LOVED him as well as his staff.
I went to the second consultation I had scheduled-- Dr Centeno of Columbus Plastic institute. (IT IS common for these to cost $100-$150, don't worry if you tried to make an appointment and they wanted money to make the appointment)
We discussed Mommy Makeover-- Tummy tuck, Aug, and lift!
We decided my life style with 4 children-- was not going to support recovery for a tummy tuck.
We decided A lift was necessary-- but then quickly discovered that once that took place I wouldn't be happy unless I got the implants as it would take all of my "volume".
We discussed I would have an extensive lift-- Keyhole/anchor incisions.
Great explanation and details about this on this link! https://www.northwesternplastics.com/what-makes-the-anchor-breast-lift-unique/
So-- Anchor Lift and 750cc Gummy Bear implants on each side was confirmed.
SURGERY DAY ONE MONTH LATER-- This is my mom and husband. As they walked out and I was going to surgery, I looked right at my mom and said "Don't worry about me-- I will just be getting my new set!" LOL
This brings me to my 2nd tip:
* MAKE PLANS TO NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING FOR 5 DAYS ( this is for both lift and aug, I have heard the augmentation alone is a little easier)
* Ask for help! My Husband was great! My mom helped with the kids! My Sister in laws made the trip all the way from North Carolina-- impromptu. We hadn't asked them to but BOY WAS I GLAD they came. My sister Ceilya put all of my meds in a pill organizer and made sure I took them around the clock.
List of things that REALLY helped me stay comfortable
* Neck Pillow-- You will not be laying on your side, flat on your back-- or really anywhere but a recliner for atleast a week!
* A FRONT closing sports bra-- A snug one but not SUPER tight.
SAME day, AFTER surgery--
You will be high as a kite--- But when that comes down-- STAY on that Ibprofen and only use hard pain meds AS NECESSARY. That sh*t is bad for you!
You wiIll have black marker all over for awhile!
Bleeding is normal, and keep your AREA CLEAN! I had Steri strips and dissolvable stitches.
ME REAAAALLLY high on the pain meds and eating this banana nut bread my Sister Ceilya made me LOL
ANOTHER thing---
I had under the muscle implants-- and those for sure have to have time to drop down. I came home looking like a B cup but Today I am a DDD almost an E (depending on brand)
Painful-- Yes.... DO I REGRET IT?!
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
I LOVE THEM! Best investment ever.
Let me know If I can help you answer any questions on your journey!

Let start by saying I am a LONG time pear shaped gal-- regardless of my weight, I have always been the same shape! I am all about embracing your body type! You do not need to change to find the perfect swimsuit. Instead, choose the style that fits you and your body. Doing so will make you more satisfied with your choices, and it will improve your experience wearing a swimsuit.
Pear shaped like me?
So, Because, I have a big old bootay-- High cut swimsuits, string bikinis NEVER suited me. I don't like to constantly walk around picking a wedgie, or constantly pulling for more coverage! So beyond avoiding the Brazilian and other skimpy cut swimsuits, I am always on the look out for busy tops and solid bottoms! It kind of pulls the attention away from my dairy air!
Which is why I go with things like One pieces, skirtinis, or tankini sets with brightly colored tops!
Small bust?
Choose a top that will enhance your girls! A lifting, push-up, or padded top will best bring out your curves. So, you know how horizontal lines sometimes can cause certain parts of the body to appear large (HELLO, I would not be putting horizontal lines on my big old butt, LOL it doesn't need anymore emphasis!) -- Well, this goes for choosing a top for small busted women. You should choose a top with horizontal lines or ruffles to create the illusion of a larger bust! NO triangular or solids if you wanna look fuller!
Plus size?
Just choose a suit that flatters your full figure. No Crash dieting or swim dress needed! Prints that extend from bust to hip or across the body create the illusion of a longer, leaner torso (if that is something YOU want, who cares what others think).
Self conscious in the stomach area? Look for things like "tummy control" or look for gathering on the suit in the stomach are--- This creates a smoother 6 pack look!!!!!
Lacking Curves?
Okay, SO lets choose tops that are super busy! I mean RUFFLES, Horizontal lines, ect! This will create a larger bust appearance! A bonus if its a push up top! Hike them puppies up there! Also, choose bottoms with a belt or rope around the waist for a curvier appearance! And for the love of donuts-- NO sliding triangular tops or those tie bottoms!
Another body type I didn't mention (THERE ARE SEVERAL) and maybe could use my help deciding on a swimsuit?
REACH OUT! :)
